The ASCEND program is designed to motivate, engage, and assist high school students in reaching their maximum potential. ASCEND focuses on Achievement, Self-awareness, Communication, Engagement, Networking, and Developmental Skills. Emphasis is placed on SMART careers (science, math, and related technologies). Students enrolled in the ASCEND program will have an opportunity to receive academic enrichment and life skills training leading to meaningful employment and careers. Activities include cultural outings, community service, job skills, career explorations, and educational preparation.
Omicron Lambda Omega’s goal is to promote positive self-esteem and confidence, provide study and test preparation skills, and opportunities for cultural awareness, global citizenship and community engagement throughout the greater New Orleans community. The ASCEND program is a Free and is open to males and females in grades 9-12. Students spend approximately 3 hours on one Saturday every month participating in workshops. The program runs for 10 months, from September – June.
